At our 2026 Annual Conference, the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference passed a resolution to create a Strengthening Black Church Committee. The resolution can be found here. The TWK Nominations Committee invites clergy and laity across the connection to consider nominating themself or others to serve on this new committee. Nominations are due by July 26. Gordon Memorial United Methodist Church has launched the Global Arts & Spirituality Collective, a new initiative supported by a Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference Faith and Innovation grant. Rooted in Wesleyan theology and the Black Church tradition, the Collective will equip emerging leaders through the arts, intercultural learning, and global partnerships, including Africa University in Zimbabwe.
