Dear BMCR,
Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
I invite you to join a critical initiative that will shape the future of vocational ministry within the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Annual Conference. As you know, our church is pivotal in cultivating, equipping, and mentoring the next generation of ministers, ensuring that diverse and committed individuals answer the call to serve in an ordained and bi-vocational ministry.
The Recruitment Program for Vocational Ministry, as a part of the Board of Ordained Ministry, has been developed as a strategic pipeline for identifying and nurturing potential ministry candidates—high school students, young adults, and individuals discerning their call. This initiative will provide mentorship, leadership development, and structured guidance to support their journey into ministry or meaningful Christian service.
As a part of BMCR, your insight and expertise are invaluable in reviewing this proposal and laying the groundwork for its implementation. I am seeking both lay and clergy volunteers who are passionate about ministerial recruitment, mentorship, and leadership development to:
Review and provide feedback on the proposal’s structure and goals.
Assist in developing an implementation plan for the first phase of recruitment and mentorship.
Offer guidance on building a strong network of mentors and candidates.
Participate in shaping the future of diverse ministry leadership in our conference.
Your involvement will ensure that this program is practical and spiritually enriching, promoting long-term engagement and support for those exploring their call to ministry.
Please share and invite your members to respond to this form by March 8, 2025, so we can organize a planning session and begin the critical work before the TWK Annual conference.
Thank you for your faithful service to the church and commitment to raising new leaders for God’s kingdom. I look forward to collaborating with you to make this vision a reality.
Peace & Blessings,
Rev. Dr. Russell M. Morrow
Chair, Committee on Recruitment and Candidacy
Tennessee Western Kentucky Board of Ordained Ministry
